.. "Willie Nelson's Tour Buses"..

“Legalize Willie Nelson’s Tour Buses” – Scott Morgan

My favorite quote, by Scott Morgan, of http://stopthedrugwar.org.  Scott  stated his opinion of the repeated harassment of Willie Nelson’s crew.  If you missed it, here it is:
I don’t usually cover celebrity pot-bust stories, but the repeated harassment of Willie Nelson’s tour bus is ridiculous and it needs to stop.
The strong odor of marijuana wafting from the window of a Willie Nelson tour bus led to six members of the country singer’s entourage getting busted in Duplin County for possession of marijuana and three-fourths of a quart of moonshine, law enforcement officials said. [News Observer]
Seriously, if anyone has a problem with what a bunch of aging musicians do in their tour bus, then don’t go in there. If these guys were a legitimate threat to public safety, it shouldn’t take a probable cause search to catch them. If they’d run a Church choir off the highway wasted on shrooms and moonshine, that would be a different story, but they’re super old and it’s clear by now that they can be trusted.
To dispel any confusion, I propose federal legislation clarifying the right of Willie Nelson and his associates to do whatever they feel is necessary in order to have an awesome time. The smell of potent cannabis emanating from their tour bus should be interpreted as a sign that everything is fine.

The Knights of the Road

It’s rare for an industry this large to have such a strong sense of community. Especially with such a high turnover rate, it would be all too easy to forget that drivers were once known as ‘The Knights of the Road.’ With new drivers coming on board every day, our industry is shifting and growing ever larger.
Drivers may no longer get compared to knights, but people still know that we look out for our own. Police in Rock Falls, IL have asked drivers to be on the lookout for Owner Operator Bryan Van Hooser, after his family reported him missing last week. He was supposed to be delivering a load of frozen meat to Chicago last Tuesday, but when he never showed, calls were made. Hooser apparently never even started the trip – his rig was found in the lot where he normally parks it.
His wife, Mindy, filed the missing persons report on Tuesday of last week at around 4:17pm. The police report stated that Mindy called the police so soon after he went missing because she was worried about “some remarks during a conversation that troubled her earlier in the afternoon.” [click to continue…]
